1. New Orleans Pelicans – Zion Williamson, Duke, PF

Zion Williamson is going to be the cornerstone of the New Orleans Pelicans for years to come. He is going to be a matchup nightmare for pretty much everyone, and combined with Jrue Holiday, the Lakers’ package of assets, and the player they take with the #4 overall pick later in this draft, the future looks very bright in the Big Easy.

2. Memphis Grizzlies – Ja Morant, Murray State, PG

With rumors constantly circulating that the Grizzlies could look to ship away long-term point guard Mike Conley to a team like the Indiana Pacers or Utah Jazz, Memphis could definitely be in the position to draft his replacement at #2. Ja Morant probably has the best court vision in the draft, and he’s got the skills to have a ton of success in the NBA.

3. New York Knicks – RJ Barrett, Duke, SF

The Knicks had their hopes up to win the NBA Draft Lottery, but Lady Luck was not on their side. Still, picking third in this draft is an exciting opportunity for New York. At #3, the Knicks will likely select RJ Barrett, former college teammate of Zion Williamson. Barrett will start right away for the Knicks and should develop quickly into a threat from many spots on the floor.

4. New Orleans Pelicans (Via Lakers) – Jarrett Culver, Texas Tech, SG

Thanks to the Lakers and the Anthony Davis trade, the New Orleans Pelicans are already back on the clock. At #4, Jarrett Culver is the most exciting prospect available. He likely won’t start with Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday, and Brandon Ingram being the options 1-3, but he can be in charge of the second unit and get a ton of developmental experience that way.

5. Cleveland Cavaliers – De’Andre Hunter, Virginia, SF

The Cavs need help in a lot of areas, and De’Andre Hunter from Virginia can be an instant contributor. He’s an elite prospect defensively, and he can also light it up from long range. Hunter already has the 3-and-D skillset that will be immediately useful for any team in the NBA.
