New Orleans Pelicans @ New York Knicks: Zion debuts at Madison Square Garden

As we enter 2020, one of the biggest games on the calendar for the Pelicans will be January 10th vs the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. This will be the first time best friends and former Duke teammates and roommates R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson will go toe-to-toe since being drafted into the NBA. The one, two punch at Duke decorated themselves quite nicely as Barrett won the NCAA’s top guard of the season at the College Basketball Awards, while Williamson also walked away with some hardware of his own in the John Wooden Award. The two would then go number one and three overall in the 2019 NBA Draft at Barclays Center – Zion to the Pelicans and R.J. to the Knicks. Seeing these two reunite on the Garden floor opposite each other will be a sight to see as you just know the competitive spirit in both will make for an exciting atmosphere in the World’s Most Famous Arena. These two teams also have what is considered two of the best young cores in the NBA, Pelicans having Zion, Lonzo, Ingram, Alexander-Walker and Hayes while the Knicks also have a promising young core of R.J. Barrett, Dennis Smith Jr., Mitchell Robinson and former Pelican Julius Randle. January 10th will be marked on all of our calendars for 2020. The two teams will also face off on March 27th in New Orleans.
