Tonight’s New Orleans Pelicans game is set for a 6:30 p.m. central time tip, with the Atlanta Hawks playing hosts in State Farm Arena.
After a practice that drew ten-thousand fans to the Smoothie King Center on Saturday evening, the New Orleans Pelicans and their fully-retooled team turn around and take a road trip to face the Atlanta Hawks for their first game of the preseason.
Interestingly, tonight’s game will feature a starting lineup of Lonzo Ball, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and Derrick Favors.
Favors is listed as questionable for tonight’s game, so he could end up a scratch, likely moving Jahlil Okafor into the starting five.
Some may have expected to see J.J. Redick get a starting nod, but he’s now set to be the first option off the bench for Alvin Gentry’s attack. Redick started 63 of his 76 games for the Philadelphia 76ers a season ago, so it’ll be interesting to see if this starting rotation lasts into the regular season.
