Tonight, the New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors open up the 2019-2020 NBA season from Scotiabank Arena.
Acting as the opening act for the 2019-2020 NBA season, the Toronto Raptors will host New Orleans Pelicans on the night of their championship ring ceremony.
Tonight’s game will tip-off at 7:00 p.m. CT from Toronto, Canada, which was last used by the Raptors for Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
The team will, of course, be without Zion Williamson, who will miss 6-to-8 weeks as he recovers from a torn meniscus in his right knee.
In his absence, the team will likely look to Jrue Holiday as their leading scoring threat and the offensive focal point. The New Orleans Pelicans have stated plenty of times leading up to the season that Holiday is “the guy” for this organization.
Brandon Ingram will also be key to watch against Toronto. After failing to reach an extension with the New Orleans Pelicans by 6 p.m. on Monday night, he set himself for restricted free agency in 2020 and will now have the season to prove his contract value to the front office.
Watching Nickeil Alexander-Walker will also be fun tonight, as the rookie was born and raised in Toronto. After his potent push in Summer League and preseason action, he’ll get his first shot in a real NBA game.
