Riding three straight losses to begin the regular season, the New Orleans Pelicans will need to knock-off the Golden State Warriors to avoid an 0-4 start.

Tonight at home, a pair of winless teams face-off at the Smoothie King Center, as the 0-3 New Orleans Pelicans play host to the 0-2 Golden State Warriors. While neither team is off to the start they’d hoped, one will leave the floor with their first win of the season in the bag.

Scheduled for a 7 p.m. CT tip-off in New Orleans, Lousiana, the team will hope for a better fate than their 116-123 loss in their home opener against the Dallas Mavericks.

Last season against the Warriors, the New Orleans Pelicans took their lumps, going 0-3 against the eventual Western Conference Champions. This year, they won’t be able to call on Kevin Durant or Klay Thompson to help combat New Orleans.

Jrue Holiday sat out Saturday’s 123-126 loss against the Houston Rockets with an apparent left knee sprain and is questionable to play tonight against the Warriors.

Without Holiday on the floor, Alvin Gentry and his Pelicans coaching staff will have to continue leaning on Brandon Ingram to lead the team.

Contributing 27.3 points per contest, Ingram is averaging the eighth-most points in the league to start the 2019-2020 season. He’s also averaging 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.7 blocks, and is shooting 52.6% from three-point territory.

The team will have the challenge of stoping one of the best-scoring backcourts in the NBA, going up against the dynamic duo of D’Angelo Russell and two-time MVP, Steph Curry.

Tickets are still available to tonight’s clash, one that could ultimately play a role in playoff positioning later in the season.
