Set for a battle of the struggling starts, the New Orleans Pelicans are headed to face a Brooklyn Nets team who can’t find chemistry.

After facing a slew of Western Conference playoff contenders, in addition to the defending champions in Toronto on ring night, the New Orleans Pelicans will now get the chance to clear out a Brooklyn Nets squad that’s off to a 2-4 start.

Tonight’s game is set for a 6:30 p.m. tip from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, where the Pelicans are looking to check-off another win, seeking improvement from their 1-5 record.

Brooklyn is riding high into tonight’s game after taking down the Houston Rockets 123-116 on Saturday. The New Orleans Pelicans, on the other hand, are riding the heels of an uninspiring 104-115 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Fortunately for the Pelicans, they’re expecting to be healthier tonight than they’ve been since opening night.

After getting Jrue Holiday back on Halloween against the Denver Nuggets, Derrick Favors is listed as questionable and, per Alvin Gentry, will return to the lineup either tonight or Friday against the Toronto Raptors.

The team also has good news in that leading scorer in Brandon Ingram didn’t suffer a concussion in the first half against the Thunder and will play tonight.

Ingram is off to a masterful start, averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, while shooting 51.5% from the field, with a 50% rate from three-point range.

Whether or not the third-worst scoring defense from the New Orleans Pelicans can slow down Kyrie Irving will be key. The All-NBA guard is averaging 30.5 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.5 rebounds to start his campaign in Brooklyn.

It’ll be a tough slate for the Pelicans, but winning against an Eastern Conference Playoff-hopeful in Brooklyn would be a morale booster for the slow-starting bunch from the Big Easy.
