The New Orleans Pelicans are dealing with injuries of their own, but they’ll have a good chance to take down a Warriors team swept in injuries.

Set for a battle of the similarly-injured tonight in Big Easy, the New Orleans Pelicans will host the Golden State Warriors in a game where someone has to win. With the Pelicans off to a 3-9 start and the Warriors playing to the tune of a league-worst 2-11 jaunt, it’ll be an interesting draw.

Tonight’s game is set for a 6 p.m. CT tip-off from the Smoothie King King Center.

Last time the Golden State Warriors came to New Orleans, they played their best game of the season, winning a decisive 134-123 draw at the Smoothie King Center.

However, they’ll be without Stephen Curry and D’Angelo Russell in tonight’s game, the two leading scorers on the team and from that night.

Curry could miss the whole season with his hand injury, while Russell will be out at least two weeks with a strained thumb.

The team saw early exits from Frank Jackson and Derrick Favors in last night’s loss. The Pelicans were already dealing with injuries to Lonzo Ball, Jahlil Okafor, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart, all of whom missed last night’s contest.

For the New Orleans Pelicans, the health of Brandon Ingram could be a huge factor. He’s easily been the team’s best player on the offensive end and they could really use his scoring abilities if they want a chance to cruise past the Warriors.

Potentially lacking a ton of other teammates, Ingram was ruled-out late last night and should be back in action tonight against Golden State. The team’s leading scorer is averaging 25.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and shooting 46.9% from three out of the gate.

Missing the last two games, they could really use his help tonight against the Warriors.

The team could also benefit from the continued positive play of Jrue Holiday, who led the team’s takedown of the LA Clippers last week. Jrue is averaging 25 points, 5.5 assists, 4 steals, and has made 9-of-11 three-pointers over the last two games for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Also boosting the Pelicans has been starts from Kenrich Williams and E’Twaun Moore in consecutive games, as the duo has given the team quite an edge on both ends.

If Holiday and Ingram step up, plus the Pelicans keep getting solid play from their second unit players, they should have a very winnable game against the league-worst Warriors.
