3 coaches who could fix the New Orleans Pelicans next season

Jerry Stackhouse, Vanderbilt Commodores Head Coach
After J.B. Bickerstaff was fired following the 2018-2019 season, Jerry Stackhouse made the leap from assistant to head coach, climbing to the college ranks and skipping out on NBA interviews to become the lead man at Vanderbilt.
Stackhouse also played in the NBA from 1995-2008, where he made two All-Star teams as a member of the Detroit Pistons.
He’s been involved with coaching since his departure from the league, winning the D-League Championship and Coach of the Year honors in 2017 with the Raptors 905 squad.
While Stackhouse expressed his joy in the culture upon arriving at Vanderbilt, the former NBA standout has long been circled as a future head coach for his incredible basketball IQ and excellence in working with young players.
Interestingly for the New Orleans Pelicans’ interests, Jerry Stackhouse is from Brandon Ingram‘s native Kinston, North Carolina and was key in BI’s development dating back to his teenage days.
Stackhouse has long praised Ingram’s game and is considered to be the young forward’s mentor, as he’s loved his ability to shoot the rock.
It’ll be hard to draw Stackhouse out of college, as his Vanderbilt squad currently sits with a 6-2 record in his first year as their head coach. Seeming to take a lot of pleasure in his job, it would be understandable if Stackhouse is more interested in spending a longer time at the college level.
