The New Orleans Pelicans have played their last game before the debut of Zion Williamson and there’s plenty of reasons to think it could get a lot more fun.

Yesterday afternoon, the Pelicans broke a franchise record for threes made in a game and gained a game on the eighth-seed leading Memphis Grizzlies, but most fans marveled as the team took home a victory in their final game without the services of Zion Williamson.

After a lot of watching and waiting, in addition to an at times confusing timeline from the organization, the superstar rookie is about to make his splash in the NBA.

Finally, it’s time to dance.

The long anticipation for Zion is finally coming to a close, as the New Orleans Pelicans sit 3.5 games out of the Western Conference Playoffs and stand at 17-27 with just over half of the season out of the way.

Playing in his first game on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs, Zion will immediately get a chance to help this team battle for the playoffs.

Tomorrow night’s game was even flexed to be included in ESPN’s Wednesday Night basketball coverage, as the national audience finally gets a chance to lay eyes on the Pelicans product.

The game will tip-off at 8:30 p.m. CT from the Smoothie King Center, which is almost certain to be electric from the first whistle to the final buzzer.

Certainly, TNT and ESPN are thrilled about the return of Zion Williamson, as they initially slated the Pelicans for a ton of televised games early in the season, games that looked pretty unexcited to the national audiences as the team went on their 13-game losing streak after Thanksgiving.

Now, with a playoff race heating up and one of the most anticipated talents in the history of the NBA about to take the floor, all eyes are on the Pelicans.

Moreover, Zion Williamson is going to get a chance to make his first big impression on the league with a team full of players fit for his skillset.
