Centers

Derrick Favors:  C-

Favors had the worst night of any Pelican, though it may not show up in the box scores. Favors rarely misses a shot (they are all dunks) so it was not surprising that he went three out of four for six points overall. Favors also added seven rebounds, but was plagued by foul trouble and did a poor job defending Whiteside and keeping him off the boards, especially in the first half. Though he ended with a +14 plus/minus, the Pelicans were better when he was off the floor.

Jaxson Hayes:  C+

Hayes played just 11 minutes and scored nine points and added three rebounds. Like Favors, he did not do a good job keeping Whiteside off the glass, but he ran the floor well and was efficient on offense.

Overall, it was a great team win for the Pelicans, with everyone chipping in and sharing the ball. The third quarter was a thing of beauty and showcased what the Pelicans can be when they are playing well. Considering this was done without leading scorer Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans have to be excited about their future and their chances to creep into the playoff picture.
