New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors: Betting Odds, Injuries and DFS Tips
The New Orleans Pelicans continue their late-season playoff surge on the road against the Golden State Warriors with a chance to gain ground on idle Memphis.
The New Orleans Pelicans (24-32) are coming off a big win over the Trail Blazers on Friday night and are now just four games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the eight seed. Friday’s win was a spectacular team effort, with the Pelicans shooting 52.9 percent from 3-point range and adding 36 team assists. Winners of seven of their last 10 games, the New Orleans Pelicans are finally at full strength and are playing some of the best basketball of the season.
Zion Williamson continued his run at Rookie of the Year with 25 points in just 29 minutes. Brandon Ingram added 16 points, six assists and four rebounds in his return and the two young Pelicans are finally getting a chance to show they are one of the best duos in the NBA.
The injured Golden State Warriors (12-44) continue to tank away this lost season and are well on their way to being the worst team in the league. The Warriors were throttled by 30 points by the Rockets on Thursday and have lost five games in a row overall.
This is a game the New Orleans Pelicans need to win, as the Warriors are shorthanded, and with Memphis idle, the Pelicans have a chance to edge even closer to the final playoff spot with 26 games remaining.
The New Orleans Pelicans have been a force since Williamson’s return and are playing the type of uptempo, unselfish basketball that the Warriors pioneered just a few years ago. Andrew Wiggins and the young Warriors will try to play spoiler against the surging and dangerous New Orleans Pelicans.

Injury reports
The official injury report has not been released but the New Orleans Pelicans will be without the services of shooting guard Kenrich Williams.
The Warriors will continue to be without the Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Draymond Green and Marquese Chriss are listed as day-to-day and will likely be game time decisions.
DFS tips
The New Orleans Pelicans are the fourth highest scoring team in the NBA and have been spreading the fantasy points around, so there are any number of strong plays against the shorthanded Warriors.
This will probably be the last game to get Zion at $8.5k, as his cost continues to rise with his strong play. Forget about the minutes limitations, as Williamson is averaging 39.2 FP over his last five games. Ingram is probably still a bit risky, but at only $6.9k, is still worth the risk. Nicolo Melli ($3.8k) had a ton of open looks against the Trail Blazers and figures to continue to get them as defenses focus on trying to stop Williamson and Ingram. Melli is a strong value play at that price and could have a big game against the Warriors.
With potentially only nine active players, the Warriors don’t have any big matchup advantages that stand out. One of the New Orleans Pelicans’ weaknesses has been points in the paint, so Kevon Looney at $3k could be a potential low risk/high reward play for the Warriors, especially if Chriss is out.
Happy Sunday and good luck with all of your bets and fantasy sports games.
