The New Orleans Pelicans hope to get a win against former teammate Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers as they continue to push for the Western Conference playoffs.

The New Orleans Pelicans (25-32) are coming off a lackluster victory over the Golden State Warriors in which they shot poorly in the first half. It was hard to blame the young Pelicans for overlooking the Warriors, as they had just come off an important win in Portland and were looking ahead to their marquee matchup with the first place Lakers.

Zion Williamson continued to be a handful for the New Orleans Pelicans, carrying the team in the first half and finishing with 28 points and seven rebounds as he makes his run at Rookie of the Year. But the second half belonged to Jrue Holiday, who carved up the Warriors’ defense on his way to 23 points, 15 assists and seven rebounds. Nicolo Melli was also big, adding 20 points on 6 of 7 from 3-point range.

The Los Angeles Lakers (43-12) continued to steamroll their way through the Western Conference. Winners of five straight, the Lakers are coming off a victory over the Boston Celtics behind big games from their superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who had 29 and 32 points respectively.

This will be the first time that the New Orleans Pelicans will face the Lakers with their team at full strength. The Pelicans are currently just three games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the eight seed in the West and can gain further ground after the Grizzlies lost last night to the Clippers.

Fresh off the emotional celebration of life ceremony for Kobe Bryant and daughter Gigi, the Staples Center is sure to be charged and rocking for this marquee matchup of two of the league’s most exciting teams.

Injury reports

The official injury report has not been released but the New Orleans Pelicans will be without the services of shooting guard Kenrich Williams.

The Lakers have both Davis and Markieff Morris listed as day-to-day but both are expected to play tonight in Los Angeles.

DFS tips

This game is sure to be a high scoring affair and both teams offer plenty of fantasy value beyond the big name stars. Zion is still just $8k, down from last game, which means he is still a good bargain. I would pass on Lonzo Ball against his former team and instead go with fellow guard Holiday. At $7.9k, Holiday still offers value and has scored 49.2 FP on average over his last five games. I will continue to beat the Melli drum, as the power forward is coming off one of his best games and is still only $4k. With Zion and Brandon Ingram drawing most of the attention, Melli is certain to get open looks. If he can continue to knock them down at a high rate, he is a great value play.

dark. Next. The Pelicans Won the Anthony Davis Trade

For the Lakers, Davis is listed as questionable, but has had big games against his former team in the past, so may be worth it even at $10.3k. Of course there is always fantasy certainty Lebron, but if you are looking for value, check out Dwight Howard. The Pelicans are not great paint defenders or rebounders, so Howard could be a risk/reward play at just $4.3k.

Enjoy the game and good luck with all of your bets and fantasy sports.
