The Orlando Magic still need a point guard, with veteran D.J. Augustin getting older and Markelle Fultz preferring to play off the ball.
This would be a bit of a stretch for Tre Jones, who doesn’t project as a star but is the best point guard still on the board.
If the Magic don’t feel like Jones is their guy, they could go in any number of directions, including trying to trade up to get a point guard that they like more.
Jones has many of the same qualities as Augustin, which may intrigue the Magic. He is a steady ball handler and above average 3-point shooter, who is already comfortable running the pick and role.
Jones is not the sexiest pick and doesn’t have the highest ceiling, but if the Magic feel they need to add a reliable point guard to their backcourt, then he could be their guy.
