Sixth Man of the Year: Montrezl Harrell, Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers entered the hiatus as the second seed in the West and were given the third best odds to win the title.

While Leonard and fellow All-NBA wing Paul George were getting most of the headlines, the Clippers were being held down by their bench.

Clippers’ teammates Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell will likely finish 1-2 for the award and you could give it to either one depending on what you value most.

Sweet Lou is averaging 18.7 points and continues to make his case as the best sixth man of all time.

But Williams doesn’t do anything but score, which is why I chose Harrell, who is not only averaging 18.6 points per game, but is adding 7.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocks as well.

Harrell can guard multiple positions and gives the Clippers an edge off the bench.

If Williams wins his third consecutive Sixth Man award, no one will complain, but Harrell’s all-around contributions give him a slight edge.

Some love should also be given to Derrick Rose in Detroit, Dennis Schroder in Oklahoma City and Josh Hart from the New Orleans Pelicans.
