Back-to-Back 12th Picks for the Hornets

#4 P.J Washington: 2019, Charlotte Hornets

P.J. Washington was the second of back-to-back 12th picks for the Hornets and it looks like they have struck gold with both picks.

Washington was enjoying a fantastic rookie season for the Hornets, averaging 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

He probably won’t get many votes for Rookie of the Year, but he has been very solid for the Hornets, who finally have some hope.

Washington’s entry this high on the list comes mostly from potential, but let’s remember that a lot of these guys had potential that they never realized.

But Washington is solid in all areas of his game, can guard multiple positions at 6-foot-7 and hits 37.4 percent from long-range, exactly what teams want in a wing.

He isn’t going to win any awards for flash, but he’s one of the most solid players on this list and likely to get much better as his offensive game continues to develop.

#3 Miles Bridges: 2018, Charlotte Hornets

Miles Bridges is another athletic wing who gives the Hornets hope that their long streak of mediocrity is finally coming to an end.

Bridges averaged 13 points and 5.6 rebounds this season for the Hornets in 30.7 minutes per game as a starter.

Like Washington, Bridges has the size to guard multiple positions at 6-foot-6 and gives the Hornets two position-less wings to build around.

Wings who can guard multiple spots are a hot commodity in the NBA, which is why Bridges is so high on this list.

Neither Bridges or Washington have the high-ceiling of Saric or Kennard, but they also don’t have as low a floor.

If the New Orleans Pelicans could land a solid wing who can defend his position and shoot from long-range, they would be happy.
