The New Orleans Pelicans announced that some of their encore broadcasts will have guest analysts, including rookie Zion Williamson.

Basketball fans are hungry for hoops during the hiatus and the New Orleans Pelicans are trying to help by rolling out interactive content and including players like Zion Williamson.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced that they will team with Fox to re-broadcast several Pelicans’ games for fans that may have missed them or just want to watch again.

The ten additional encore games have a bit of a twist, as each will feature a special guest analyst, including rookie Zion Williamson.

This should add an interesting wrinkle akin to watching an old movie with the director’s commentary. Sure, you’ve seen the movie, but it’s interesting to get another perspective.

The ten games will feature everyone from Zion Williamson, to David Griffin, Alvin Gentry and assistant coach Chris Finch, who many think is headed towards a head coaching gig.

It will be interesting to hear opinions and analysis from the people who make front office decisions, the coaches and the players they coach.

The full schedule is available on Pelicans.com, but some of the guest analysts we’re looking forward to will be Swin Cash on April 13th, head coach Alvin Gentry on April 25th, and of course, Zion Williamson on May 1st.

This will be a particularly interesting game for Zion Williamson to call, as it was the game when his 13-game streak of scoring 20 points came to an end.

Zion nearly killed Jae Crowder with an elbow to face in this one, and we look forward to hearing what the New Orleans Pelicans’ rookie has to say about that.

David Griffin is always candid and doesn’t hold back his opinions, so his point-of-view should offer an inside look from how the front office watches a game.

But Zion Williamson is the main attraction here, as the 19-year-old is being promoted as the new face of the NBA and will get a chance to show off his broadcasting chops.

It’s also a chance for Zion to reflect on some of the things he might have done differently or better. Either way, it should be a learning experience for the New Orleans Pelicans’ rookie.

While many players jump behind the mic for all the wrong reasons (we’re looking at you, Andre Drummond), Zion Williamson will get a chance to learn while entertaining the fans.

We can’t wait to hear what the rookie has to say, especially about that elbow.

We at Pelican Debrief are committed to bringing you coverage of the New Orleans Pelicans during the hiatus.

We appreciate your continued support. Stay safe out there!
