Two Tough Defenders

Today’s NBA may be all about the offense, but defense still matters and these two players have carved out niches for themselves on the defensive end.

Point Guard. Patrick Beverley. #7. 41. Pick Analysis. Golden State Warriors. player. Scouting Report

I’m certain the Golden State Warriors are not one of the teams that would like to do this draft again.

Though they still get a really nice player in Patrick Beverley, the re-draft cost them generational superstar Curry, who kicked off a dynasty in Golden State.

Beverley has become a thorn in the side of that dynasty and I’m sure Curry wishes he wasn’t still being defending by the pesky Clipper.

Beverley aka “Mr. 94-feet” is proof that relentless hustle, defense and doing the dirty work still have value in the NBA.

The New Orleans Pelicans currently lack a guy like Beverley, who gives the Clippers an edge.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. Power Forward. New York Knicks. Taj Gibson. #8. 27

In a not so shocking move, the New York Knicks took the wrong player in the draft! They were looking for a power forward and got one in Jordan Hill, it was just the wrong one.

Taj Gibson would have been a much better choice. He had a nice career as a role player for the Derrick Rose-era Bulls, and eventually even found his way to New York, where he is currently being overpaid.

As usual, the Knicks were wrong and late and it cost them the services of a player in his prime.
