Two Slow Developers

The next two players took forever to develop but eventually turned into very serviceable 3-and-D wings for their respective teams.

DeMarre Carroll. #11. player. Forward. Pick Analysis. Brooklyn Nets. 147. Scouting Report

The Brooklyn Nets (then still in New Jersey) took Terrance Williams in this draft, so I am sure they’d like to do it again.

DeMarre Carroll is one of those guys who took awhile to develop, but once he did, became the type of 3-and-D wing the league all covets.

Carroll bounced around before having his best stretch between 2013-19, when he averaged double digits and started knocking down 3-pointers at an above average rate.

Forward. player. 170. Pick Analysis. Charlotte Bobcats. Joe Ingles. #12. Scouting Report

It’s hard to imagine Joe Ingles on any team but Utah, but if this draft were done again, this undrafted forward would jump into the back-end of the lottery.

Other than Holiday from the New Orleans Pelicans, no player made a bigger leap in this draft.

Ingles didn’t enter the league until age 27, but has put together some nice years for the Jazz and has shot at least 44 percent from 3-point range twice for Utah.

These two guys are proof that sticking with it can pay off.
