Some teams form rivalries because they have transcendent generational talents that are ascending at same time.

This is true of the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks, who have the two best young players in the game and the next two faces of the NBA.

When we think of the NBA glory days we think of Magic vs. Bird, Magic vs. Michael, Michael vs. Isaiah and a bevy of other players who were duking it out for supremacy year after year.

Zion Williamson vs. Luka Doncic could be the next big rivalry in the NBA, which will hopefully lead to some all-time great games in the future.

Zion and Luka have already treated the basketball world to a couple of gems, including an overtime thriller just before the suspension of play.

The Mavericks dominated the New Orleans Pelicans in their first two matchups but those were without Zion. Now that the big man has returned, the two teams are going to be a lot tighter.

This could eventually be the best rivalry on this list, as the two play in the same division and will be going to war several times a year.
