New Orleans Pelicans: Ranking Roster from Least to Most Tradeable
Teams might pick up the phone…
Kenrich Williams: Age 25
Contract: Final year/$1.41 million
Kenrich Williams aka Kenny Hustle would be much higher on this list if he weren’t coming off an injury.
Williams is a long wing who is a plus-defender at several positions, he is only 25 and he is making the league minimum. If the New Orleans Pelicans would have wanted to trade Williams this year (and he wasn’t hurt), they would have found a partner.
Williams will be another interesting case, as he fits the profile of what many teams want and can probably be had at a bargain after being injured. The New Orleans Pelicans may decide that these factors, coupled with the lower salary cap, make Williams an intriguing option to re-sign.
Frank Jackson: Age 22
Contract: Final Year/$1.61 million
Frank Jackson would certainly get some interest in a trade. He is only 22-years-old and has already flashed enough for someone to take a chance on the young point guard.
Jackson is another interesting case for the New Orleans Pelicans and the lowered salary cap. Teams might decide to just keep the players they have rather than take a risk on guys they don’t know.
This may be the case with Jackson, who the Pelicans like and were giving more playing time to as the season wore on, especially after the injury to J.J. Redick.
Some team may open a bag for Jackson if they like what they’ve seen, in which case the New Orleans Pelicans will probably move on, but Jackson’s return is possible, and someone would definitely trade for him if the Pels picked up the phone.
