Josh Hart is about to get paid

Josh Hart will be in a contract year next season, which usually means a big jump in statistics as players try to show their value to the league.

Hart is currently on one of the most team-friendly contracts in the NBA and he will make just $3.49 million next season.

The New Orleans Pelicans or someone else are going to have to pay a lot more than that for Josh Hart’s services moving forward, especially if he has a huge season off the bench.

Hart fits the mold of the 3-and-D wing that most teams are looking for, can guard multiple positions, is just coming into his peak years and still has room to get a lot better.

Someone his going to open a bag for Hart, who will almost certainly test the waters in free agency, especially if he craves a bigger role than the New Orleans Pelicans can offer him.

Josh Hart has plenty of incentive to have a big year with the New Orleans Pelicans, either to get a big extension from the Pels or a fat deal somewhere else.

Hart’s contract is one of the biggest question marks for the Pelicans coming into next season, as they have the Brandon Ingram max extension coming, and will soon have to deal with extending Lonzo Ball and eventually Zion.

Hart may play himself off the team, as the Pelicans will be looking for cheaper production and may opt to go with a younger guy on a rookie contract to replace Hart.

Josh Hart’s days of being underpaid are nearly over and he has the chance to play himself into a huge raise.
