The New Orleans Pelicans have kept themselves busy during the hiatus, especially Lonzo Ball, who has dropped two new tracks.

If you’ve been following Lonzo Ball of the New Orleans Pelicans, you know he’s had no trouble keeping busy.

The ascending point guard has taken part in BLM protests, showcased his terrible weight lifting form, appeared on a multitude of podcasts and dropped a couple of new tracks.

I have to admit, I was skeptical about Lonzo Ball‘s rapping ability, but his new tracks have drawn largely favorable reviews. “Don’t Shoot” had a powerful message about police brutality, and his latest, “Tick Tock” is back to his personal life.

While most reviews were pretty ‘meh’ about LiAngelo Ball’s verse, Lonzo’s drew almost universal praise from around the Twitterverse.

It’s clear that for Lonzo Ball, making music is more than just a hobby and that he wants fans to take him seriously.

The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping Lonzo Ball can continue his stellar play, as he was on fire before play was suspended, hitting 41 percent of his 3-point shots over the last 20 games.

If Lonzo can keep it up, the Pelicans will have a good shot of overtaking the Portland Trail Blazers and forcing a play-in series against the Memphis Grizzlies, in which the Pels would have to win two in a row to make the playoffs.

The New Orleans Pelicans will be part of the Yacht Club group, the six teams that were on the outside of the playoffs when the league was shut down.

Lonzo will be a big part of the narrative, as he is eligible for an extension this summer and rumors are already circulating that the New Orleans Pelicans will try to get a deal done before Ball hits free agency.

Lonzo will always have his music career to fall back on, but the Pelicans hope he can carry them to the playoffs this season and be a part of a consistent championship contender for years to come.
