The Suns have long been looking for another guard talent to pair with Devin Booker and could get their guy in R.J. Hampton.
Hampton is one of the most polarizing players in the draft, as he has flashed big time potential, but also has some serious flaws in his game.
He’s not a great shooter, but on the Suns, he’d largely be tasked with creating shots and running the pick-and-roll.
The Suns already have Ricky Rubio, but could look to move him if they grab another point guard in the draft, or could just let Hampton learn from the veteran for a season coming off the bench.
The Suns could try to grab a power forward here, but all of them present just as many risks as Hampton and may not have the same ceiling.
Adding Hampton to a team that already has Booker, Ayton and Kelly Oubre Jr. might be enough to propel the Suns into the playoff picture in the Western Conference.
