NBA Mock Draft 4.0: What if the New Orleans Pelicans Make the Playoffs?
New Orleans Pelicans: Mock Draft Pick #11
The San Antonio Spurs need to inject some youth into their roster with just about their entire core on the wrong side of 30.
Alexsej Pokusevski has risen up draft boards more than any other prospect, but is definitely one of the riskier picks.
The Spurs traditionally love international players who can pass and shoot and Pokusevski projects as a guy who can do both.
Though he is a seven footer, Pokusevski is skinny and lacks physical strength, but he already has good shooting form, is a plus-passer, especially for his size and does a good job blocking shots off the ball.
This would be a bit of a stretch for the Spurs, who usually draft well and aren’t inclined to take these type of high ceiling/low floor players, but with an aging roster, they might be more likely to take a gamble here.
Pokusevski is going to be one of the more interesting players in this draft, as a lot of teams are intrigued by his combination of size and playmaking, but there isn’t a lot of game evidence to go on, so he could end up in the top-ten or falling out of the first round altogether.
