New Orleans Pelicans: Mock Draft Pick #1

Pick Analysis. 1. 41. Scouting Report. Golden State Warriors. James Wiseman. player. Center

This is the pick in the 2020 NBA Draft that is most likely to be traded.

The Warriors will get Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green back next season, but the window to win another title with this core is closing quickly.

If the Warriors do get the number one pick, they will likely trade it for a player who can help them now, but if they do keep the pick, James Wiseman could be their guy.

The Warriors don’t have a true big except for James Looney, so could look to bolster their front court with a guy who can protect the rim and run the floor.

Wiseman averaged three blocks a game in limited action for Memphis, is athletic, can rebound and is efficient offensively.

He won’t require the ball to be effective, which is good because he wouldn’t be seeing much of it on the Warriors. He’s potentially a nice fit alongside the Warriors’ “Big Three” and is probably the player in this draft most ready to make an impact right away.

This could be a reach for a guy who won’t stretch the floor or add much offensively, but Wiseman could end up being the most effective rookie from this draft next season.
