New Orleans Pelicans: Mock Draft Pick #4

Point Guard. 4. player. Pick Analysis. Cleveland Cavaliers. LaMelo Ball. 156. Scouting Report

The Cavs dropped two spots in our simulation but are still able to come away with the guy who many predict will go number one.

The Cavs aren’t good and need help everywhere, but they aren’t hopeless, as they do have some talent in Collin Sexton and Andre Drummond, who recently exercised his option for the 2020-21 season.

The Cavs are seriously lacking in star power, as Drummond is not the type of guy who is going to fill arenas.

LaMelo Ball would provide that star power, though I am certain his father would not be happy if he were to end up in Cleveland.

Ball is the type of versatile player who can fit on just about any team, and his passing would allow Sexton to play more off the ball.

If Kevin Love can find some more gas in the tank, and Drummond plays well in a contract year, the Cavaliers might not be horrible with LaMelo running the offense.

If the Cavs aren’t sold on LaMelo then they might trade this pick for one in 2021 since they aren’t likely going anywhere anyway and could conceivably get a better player.
