New Orleans Pelicans: Mock Draft Pick #7

Tyrese Haliburton. 7. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Point Guard. New York Knicks. player. 27

Like the Pistons, the Knicks can’t ever seem to catch a break in the draft.

As usual, the New York Knicks don’t have a clear plan or direction, so who they would take with this pick is anyone’s guess.

They have a glut of power forwards under contract for next year so it is unlikely that they would take a big here, though they could opt to go with someone like Obi Toppin who is a bigger name.

The Knicks would likely just take the guy who they think best fits their roster and city, and that guy is Tyrese Haliburton.

The Knicks have a couple of young guards already with Frank Ntilikina, and Dennis Smith Jr. but neither of them panned out early in their careers and the Knicks may decide it is time to move on.

Haliburton may end up being the best passer in this draft and also has the size at 6-foot-5 to defend either guard position, so he is a fit on just about any roster.

The Knicks are very light on star power and Haliburton would probably draw some boos from the fans, but he is a solid pick in a draft that is point guard heavy.
