New Orleans Pelicans: Zion Williamson Looks Slim in NBA2K21 Promotion

New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson will be on the Next Gen cover of NBA2K21, but his promo video already has people talking.

Zion Williamson landed the cover of NBA2K after just 19 games for the New Orleans Pelicans.

The small, yet vocal, segment of fans who think the NBA only cares about LeBron James and Zion Williamson weren’t happy, but they rarely are.

Zion was the talk of the league when he returned from injury and didn’t disappoint, averaging 23.6 points and 6.8 rebounds while crushing records along the way.

When Zion Williamson finally made his debut he was wearing a knee brace the size of a small child, often had a noticeable limp and was getting fatigued late in games.

Without the benefit of a training camp before he returned, Zion was carrying a few extra pounds, but after putting in the work during the hiatus, it looks like he’s back to his playing weight.

Zion Williamson released a Tik Tok video as a promotion for NBA2K21 and looked to be noticeably slimmer.

This comes on the heels of an unnamed member of the New Orleans Pelicans’ staff saying that Zion Williamson was going to “shock” some people when he returned.

Zion was one of a handful of players who were allowed to remain at the team’s practice facility to work with trainers during the lockdown and it looks like that work has paid off.

Hopefully this will also help prevent any further injuries to the 19-year-old’s knees, as his style of play coupled with his size has some worried about his longevity.

The New Orleans Pelicans will have eight games to try and catch the Memphis Grizzlies for the 8th seed, though they really just have to surpass the Portland Trail Blazers and stay within four games to force a play-in series.

A slimmer Zion Williamson will help get them there and the league had better be ready.
