Two reserves made a case for the New Orleans Pelicans’ rotation.

Frank Jackson and Kenrich Williams Bring Energy

One of the questions after the first scrimmage was which of the fringe rotation players might solidify a role for themselves when the games get real.

The starters and veterans took most of the night off, so we got a heavy dose of the reserves and may have gotten an idea of which ones will get some run.

Frank Jackson was again aggressive on offense, but really showed his value on the other end. He was tenacious defensively, stood his ground against Jokic and generally brought energy from the bench. He also did this:

Kenrich Williams didn’t do much in the stat department, but he too brought energy on the defensive end, and had a couple of nice takes as well.

Gentry can deploy a number of weapons off his bench and it may change from night to night, but Jackson and Williams both bring some grit and defense off the bench, which the Pelicans will need.

It was another enjoyable night of basketball, though we weren’t able to learn much in a game between two depleted teams.

The New Orleans Pelicans have looked sharp so far and hope to carry this momentum into the first game against the Utah Jazz.
