New Orleans Pelicans: Players who won’t be with the team next year.

The Fan Favorites

Kenrich Williams

Kenrich “Kenny Hustle” Williams won fans over with his high motor, willingness to take charges and overall intensity. The problem is that he was injured for most of the season, so the New Orleans Pelicans really have no idea how or if he fits on this roster. What they do know is that they must get better on the wing behind Brandon Ingram, and Williams didn’t provide that depth. He only made $1.4 million this season and if he had stayed healthy, who knows. But he didn’t, so the Pelicans are likely to move on.

E’Twaun Moore

Uncle E played some quality minutes for the New Orleans Pelicans and was always a consummate professional. He did what was asked of him, never complained even when his minutes dipped and played hard always, which is why he is one of the most loved players on the team. He made a whopping $8.66 million this season, far more than his production would warrant. He is also a tweener who is often too slow to defend shooting guards and too short to defend wings. If the Pelicans could bring him back on a veteran’s minimum, there might be some mutual interest, but Moore still shoots the three well enough that he will probably get a better offer somewhere else.

At age 31, he doesn’t fit with the Pelicans’ timeline, but considering he still shoots 37.7% from long-range, Moore will get a job, probably with a contending team that needs bench shooting.
