New Orleans Pelicans Candidate #6-  Jamahl Mosley, Dallas Mavericks (Assistant)

Jamahl Mosley is a name that we haven’t gotten to cover much here but he should be in the running for the New Orleans Pelicans. Mosley is the Dallas Mavericks’ defensive coordinator working under one of the NBA’s best head coaches in Rick Carlisle.

Beyond that, he has experience in player development through coaching the Mavericks’ summer league team and working for NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program. Not to mention that he can bring to the Pelicans the playbook of one of the most efficient offenses in league history.

With Mosley already impressing people in NBA circles he might rise up this list and win the Pelicans job.

New Orleans Pelicans Candidate #5- Jerry Stackhouse, Vanderbilt

Heading into the top five, we have another NCAA head coach but one whose candidacy is built on his last few seasons as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies. This candidate is Jerry Stackhouse.

Jerry Stackhouse has made a reputation in player development for his stint with the Toronto Raptors where he developed some of the team’s biggest championship contributors when he was coaching the team’s G-League affiliate.

Another coach who’s a former player as well, Jerry Stackhouse could be the best player development specialist on this list and that could earn him serious consideration if he opts to leave Vanderbilt after only one season.
