Paul Millsap could give the New Orleans Pelicans true veteran leadership

Paul Millsap, Power Foward- Denver Nuggets

If the New Orleans Pelicans want to add some veteran leadership to their roster, Paul Millsap could be just the guy. Nearing the end of his career, the former All-Star Millsap could offer a lot to this Pelicans team by coming off the bench and being an ideal mentor to Zion Williamson.

On the court, Millsap wouldn’t be a slouch either. Even at age 35, Paul Millsap has shown that he can still be an effective forward in the NBA. With strong defensive abilities, underrated passing vision, and newly developed three-point shot Millsap could toughen up the team’s bench.

If the Pelicans want to try something extra funky, they could even experiment with a Zion Williamson-Paul Millsap frontcourt to go small-ball like the Houston Rockets.

After playing out his last big contract for his career, Millsap could also come at a cheaper price than what his production would warrant due to his age. Millsap’s leadership could be just what the Pelicans youth might need to gain some maturity next season.
