Jahmi’us Ramsey’s Fit With The New Orleans Pelicans

Jahmi’us Ramsey’s fit with the New Orleans Pelicans is ideal, to say the least, honestly, it’s a match made in heaven. Ramsey would be a picture-perfect player to come in and minimize some of the Pelicans’ weak points while New Orleans could be the perfect place to maximize Ramsey’s strengths.

If you were to pick out the two worst traits of the New Orleans Pelicans this past season the easy answer would be streaky three-point shooting and awful defense. Ramsey should be an ideal fix to both of those problems.

Something even more enticing for the Pelicans is that he won’t always need the ball in his hands to improve the team. With the trio of Ball, Ingram, and Williamson taking up most of the team’s usage Ramsey would be able to thrive as a 3-and-D guard complimenting the starting lineup’s young stars.

This would be great for Ramsey as well because the New Orleans Pelicans situation would be able to mask his weaknesses. Ramsey would only be tasked with being a strong shooter off the catch and play great defense rather than carry an offense.

Ramsey deserves strong consideration from the Pelicans at pick 12 because the team’s future at shooting guard is up in the air. Jrue Holiday could be traded, while Nickel Alexander-Walker and Josh Hart are suited for the bench so the team should be looking for another player at that position.

Take a moment and just imagine seeing Jahmi’us Ramsey running off-screens for easy threes and forcing turnovers on defense. He might not be the star of the show in the Pelicans starting lineup, but he could become an effective starting guard for the future.
