Killian Tillie’s Fit With The New Orleans Pelicans

If the New Orleans Pelicans are willing to take a risk in the second round, Killian Tillie should be the risk they consider taking. Adding a legit stretch big who can play at either the 4 or the 5 is something that not a lot of teams in the NBA have.

That’s before even considering just how much he could boost spacing and open up driving lanes for players like Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram, and Zion Williamson. Tillie really could be the ideal rotation big to play alongside the rest of New Orleans’ talent.

Add in the dimension Tillie could give the Pelicans offense in pick-and-pop action and as a distributor from the elbow, there’s no question that the Pelicans should consider him as a high-risk high-reward pick.

The New Orleans Pelicans are putting their faith in the young core they have now so they need to add the right complementary pieces to the roster to make them successful. Tillie could be that player and New Orleans could be a great spot for him as well.

If the Pelicans take Tillie, they can platoon him and Jaxson Hayes at the center position giving the Pelicans a deadly 1-2 punch with an athletic rim-runner and a smooth stretch shooter. If it makes the offense deadlier, why shouldn’t the New Orleans Pelicans take the risk?
