Looking at five three-point marksmen for New Orleans Pelicans in the 2020 NBA Draft

After last night’s draft lottery, it became official that the New Orleans Pelicans will be picking 13th in the 2020 NBA draft. This means that the team now knows for sure where all four of their draft picks will fall.

Adding to the 13th pick, the Pelicans have three second-round picks that’ll fall at 39, 42, and 60 respectively. For any New Orleans Pelicans fan that is now starting to look at the draft seriously, this great news.

For a team like the New Orleans Pelicans who are just a few complementary pieces of away from being a contender in the NBA, the 2020 Draft is perfect for them.

Viewed as one of the weaker drafts in recent years, this draft lacks any can’t miss superstars. Unlike some draft evaluators though, I love this draft for teams like New Orleans because there’s plenty of plug-and-play role players that are perfect for rounding out the Pelicans lineup.

This is especially true when it comes to adding three-point shooting. The New Orleans Pelicans last season were a team that liked shooting it from deep a lot and in some ways, it was to their benefit. Excellent three-point shooting was a big reason the New Orleans Pelicans had a top-5 scoring offense.

Now, after seeing how the team fell apart in the bubble with some of their streaky shooters going cold, it was clear that they also died by the three-point shot. This means that entering the 2020 draft, shooting will continue being a primary need.

With so much shooting talent available across the board in this year’s draft, here are five sharpshooters that the New Orleans Pelicans should have their eye on with one of their four selections.
