New Orleans Pelicans Shooting Target #3- Robert Woodard II

Robert Woodard II, Wing- Mississippi State

Now moving into some players with great shooting prowess later in the draft comes Robert Woodard II out of Mississippi State University.

If the New Orleans Pelicans want a bigger, meaner forward who can serve a floor stretcher, Woodard should be their guy. After being only a 27% three-point shooter during his freshmen season at Mississippi State, Woodard revamped his shot mechanics to become a 43% shooter in his sophomore season.

As an NBA player, Woodard is best suited to play as a power forward or small-ball center, where his shot will be on display best in pick-and-pop action. In other situations though, Woodard could play his more natural position of a wing where his rugged defense could be a major benefit in a jumbo-sized lineup.

With all that versatility, Robert Woodard II should be one of the New Orleans Pelicans’ draft board for a second-round target because he could fill a variety of roles that the Pelicans need to improve to become contenders.
