What The New Orleans Pelicans Should Do With Pick #39: Best Player Available

Whenever a team holds the very last pick in the draft, there’s only one thing to do which is select the best player left on the board and hope he can develop into something in your program.

It’s historically very rare that NBA teams find quality players at this pick but it has happened in the past. This year could be a little different though.

With all the uncertainty in this year’s pre-draft process along with the lack of film, teams will have to look at for each prospect, a lot of teams might make mistakes.

This could mean that the New Orleans Pelicans could get lucky and potentially end up selecting a player at pick 60 who deserved to go higher in the draft.

Overall the organization shouldn’t expect much from this pick compared to the others, they should just cross their fingers and hope for the best.

With the NBA Draft just under two months away, this should be the New Orleans Pelicans gameplan for the draft now unless any quality trades come along and help the Pelicans move into win-now mode.
