New Orleans Pelicans: A Trade with the Golden State Warriors to get the #2 Pick

A Trade That Makes Sense

If the New Orleans Pelicans do decide to try and package one or more of their veterans in a trade, they will need to get bigger in the process.

Their roster is guard and tweener heavy, and they could use some guys who have size and can defend.

The Golden State Warriors are undoubtedly looking for another star to add to their “Big Three,” preferably someone who can get their own shot and defend multiple positions.

It might be a hard pill to swallow, but this trade makes a lot of sense for both sides.

The one-for-one trade is rare in the NBA, but this one makes some amount of sense. It’s possible that the Warriors would want more, as Wiggins is younger, but he also has an extra year on his contract that the Warriors may want to get out from.

It’s also possible that the Warriors would want another young player instead of the 13th pick in a weak draft. If so, inserting Jaxson Hayes or Nickeil Alexander-Walker into that slot is a possibility.

The trade works from a financial perspective, but would the Warriors actually do it?
