The New Orleans Pelicans could build a super team with a trade for Ben Simmons.

The New Orleans Pelicans are in a unique position.

If they are able to re-sign Brandon Ingram in the offseason, they will have two young stars locked up for the foreseeable future.

They also have a bounty of draft picks, young players and veteran contracts that could be potential trade assets if they wanted to change the face of their roster around their two young stars.

One way to do that would be to trade for Ben Simmons. We’ve discussed the pros and cons of Simmons, but now it is time to talk potential trades.

The Philadelphia 76ers are saying all the right things at the moment and claim that they have no interest in trading either Simmons or Joel Embiid, and they may not.

But after another disappointing season in which the Sixers finished 6th in the mediocre Eastern Conference and got swept in the playoffs, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Sixers get anxious and make some moves.

There has been wide speculation about the fit between Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, with many believing Embiid needs to be surrounded with more shooting to maximize his talents as a 1st team All-NBA center.

Philly was in the bottom half of the league in 3-pointers made for the regular season and were dead last in the playoffs, so one of their offseason goals has to be to add more shooting.

The Sixers may believe they are close and just need a few pieces to be a title contender, but those pieces are going to be difficult to get without moving one of their four monster contracts.

The New Orleans Pelicans are in a similar spot, as they may feel they just need to tweak their roster to be competitive. But the Western Conference is good, and big, and the Pels aren’t just one player away from being contenders.

Here are two blockbuster trades for Ben Simmons that would shake up both rosters and probably break the Internet.
