2020 NBA Mock Draft with Trades: #12- Sacramento Kings

Small Forward. Sacramento Kings. 12. player. 84. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Aaron Nesmith

Like the New Orleans Pelicans, the Sacramento Kings already have a talented young core that they will try to complement with this pick.

With shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic likely leaving in free agency and Buddy Hield possibly requesting his way out via trade, the Kings will need help on the wing.

The Kings could go a lot of ways here, as they need defense, but may ultimately decide that Aaron Nesmith’s combination of size and elite shooting are too much to pass up.

He has missed some time with injuries but Nesmith is shooting an outstanding 52.2 percent from 3-point range.

Nesmith can definitely shoot, but doesn’t do much else. His assist and rebounding numbers are not impressive, and he’s not a good defender or ball handler. But teams are always looking to add shooting and Nesmith can do that, getting 23 points per game.

He also has nice size at 6-foot-6 with a long wing span, so he profiles a guy who could eventually develop into a versatile defender.

Nesmith would be a nice 3-and-D option next to De’Aaron Fox for years to come, especially if the Kings shake up their backcourt in the offseason.
