We looked at each NBA award and which of the New Orleans Pelicans could win it next season.

The New Orleans Pelicans are full of young talent that is sure to bring home some trophies over the next few seasons.

Brandon Ingram took home the NBA’s Most Improved Player award after a huge breakout season that saw his numbers jump across the board.

Zion Williamson is the best rookie, but likely won’t take home the award, as he didn’t play enough to warrant serious consideration and Ja Morant was amazing. I’d still rather have Zion, but you can’t take anything away from Morant, who was healthy and played a complete season.

With a new coach on the way,  and some new faces likely to be on the bench, the Pelicans have a chance to make the playoffs next season, and if they do, they are sure to take home a few awards.

We took a look at each award and which Pelican is most likely to win it next season.

NBA Basketball Executive of the Year- David Griffin

If Griffin makes a savvy coaching hire, complements his young stars with the right role players and gets this team into the top half of the Western Conference, then I’d say this award is a lock.

However, none of those things will be easy, as the Pelicans aren’t as close to teams like Dallas as they are to teams like Sacramento.

There will have to be some important changes to the makeup of the roster and Griffin will have to find a coach to get the most out of their talent.

If he does so, expect Griffin to take home this award, as the Pelicans have a chance to make a big leap if he makes the right moves.
