New Orleans Pelicans Coaching Candidate #2- Chris Finch, New Orleans Pelicans (Assistant)

A newcomer rises all the way to number two in our rankings! What? That’s what happens when you get the seal of approval from the person leading the New Orleans Pelicans organization, David Griffin.

People in New Orleans love Chris Finch. His path to coaching is very similar to Nick Nurse and many members of the organization view Finch as a coaching genius. I wouldn’t be surprised if the New Orleans Pelicans are giving him the first interview for the job while other coaches are still in the NBA bubble.

Finch is still an enigma though, but I’d be interested to see how he would command the New Orleans Pelicans roster and what a first-time head coach like Finch could do with all the talent at his disposal.

New Orleans Pelicans Coaching Candidate #1- Tyronn Lue, Los Angeles Clippers (Assistant)

Was there really any question that Tyronn Lue would be taking the number one spot? The man met with David Griffin in the bubble before the New Orleans Pelicans departed. He is the person that David Griffin chose to lead a championship team once before and I think he’s considering it yet again.

For all of Tyronn Lue’s question marks, he brings a lot of valuable traits to the New Orleans Pelicans organization. Among those traits are toughness and a championship mentality which are two traits the Pelicans seriously lacking right now.

He can handle the ego of superstars, and he knows how to scheme a defense. Tyronn Lue is the favorite for the position now so that puts him atop of our updated list.
