New Orleans Pelicans-Free Agent Small Forwards in 2021

Small Forwards

Gordon Hayward/ Otto Porter Jr./ Kelly Oubre Jr./ Jerami Grant/ P.J. Tucker/ Doug McDermott

I am only listing unrestricted free agents here, so LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George aren’t on the list, as they all have player options that they will likely exercise or fold into a new extension.

Even without the big 3, the small forward class has plenty of guys who could help the Pelicans.

I really like Kelly Oubre Jr. as a fit with Zion Williamson, as he can stretch the floor and still has some size.

Jerami Grant would also be a great option, as he would add some size, muscle and improve the Pelicans’ defense on the wing.

P.J. Tucker is probably too told and Hayward will likely be too expensive, but even a guy like Doug McDermott could be an option to replace Redick’s 3-point shooting if the Pels let him walk.

The list for 2020 is probably a bit better, but the impact guys will be too expensive for the Pelicans, whereas they might be able to get value in 2021 that doesn’t eat up so much cap space.
