A big man with an intriguing skill set could find a home with the New Orleans Pelicans

Harry Giles- Sacramento Kings

Did someone say Duke University, New Orleans Campus? Because that’s exactly what the New Orleans Pelicans would become if they sign Harry Giles, but I’m all for it. Injuries and playing for the worst franchise in the NBA have held Harry Giles down, but no more.

The Sacramento Kings hilariously made the mistake of not qualifying Harry Giles for restricted free agency, and after showing flashes of potential during this past regular season he’s now available for any team on the open market.

I’ve always been in love with Giles’ skillset since I saw footage of him as a high-school player. His game is just smooth and coordinated. I feel like with some guidance in New Orleans, he could be a perfect complimentary big-man to the Pelicans’ roster.

Harry Giles is a high-IQ shot-blocker, an excellent passer for a big, and has a smooth mid-range shot that could extend out to the three-point line in time. Under the New Orleans Pelicans’ overhauled medical staff, this team could also be the perfect place for Harry Giles to manage the issues in his knees.

I think the chemistry he could have with the team’s other former Duke players is something we shouldn’t undervalue and Harry Giles is an excellent low-cost big to target in free agency.
