New Orleans Pelicans Draft Prospect: Killian Tillie

Killian Tillie

Killian Tillie may very well be the guy everyone regrets passing on in the draft.

The 6-foot-10 power forward out of Gonzaga was getting a lot of looks before he wrecked his ankle and had to miss a big chunk of his junior and senior seasons with different injuries.

Tillie has had both ankle and knee issues that have dropped him as a prospect, but some team will likely take a chance on his talent in the late first or early second round.

He could be a potential steal and a guy who is ready to play right away….. if he’s healthy.

He’s reminiscent of Michael Porter Jr. who had lottery talent but fell to Denver in the draft because of his injury history.

Tillie profiles as a stretch-four, as he can really shoot the rock. He averaged 44.4% from long-range over his four-year college career, though he only averaged 3.8 attempts per game in his senior season.

Tillie can handle the ball on offense, is a plus-passer for his size and could be a guy who is nearly unstoppable in the pick-and-roll, as he can both shoot and make plays for others.

Tillie should be able to come in and get buckets for some team right away, as he has all of the physical tools and experience. The question is going to be health.

If the Pelicans could nab him in the early second round they’d be smart to do so, as this guy could be a legit player in the NBA.
