The New Orleans Pelicans can send J.J. Redick to Brooklyn to round out a championship roster

Brooklyn is booming in the basketball community right now. One of the winners of last year’s free agency, the Nets are getting ready to unleash a healthy Kyrie Irving-Kevin Durant duo on the NBA. In adding new head coach Steve Nash to the team now, the Nets are looking to finish off their championship roster.

J.J. Redick is perfect for the Nets’ goals. Brooklyn’s star duo is making it abundantly clear that they want veterans instead of youngsters to win-now and this deal is perfect!

The reason I like this deal a lot is that I think J.J. Redick would love to be in Brooklyn and that the Nets would want him. For anyone that doesn’t know, Redick and his family live in Brooklyn during the offseason and from all reports love it there.

On the Nets side, Redick has solid relationships with both Durant and Irving. He speaks with both stars occasionally through social media and two All-Stars made appearances on Redick’s podcast in the past. J.J. Redick is the perfect veteran Durant and Irving will trust to kick the ball out to.

For the New Orleans Pelicans, they have to pay a second-round pick, but they get an excellent young player in Taurean Prince. Prince is a solid shooter from beyond the arc shooting 37 percent for his career and plays on the wing. He’d slide in perfectly to a Pelicans rotation that is weak on the wings and provide consistent spacing.

I think this deal goes through because Brooklyn’s star duo wants players like Redick and Prince isn’t as valuable to the Nets with Durant’s return to basketball.
