Be the GM: Trading Holiday for Wiggins and James Wiseman

Drafting James Wiseman #2

Congrats! You have used your #2 pick to take James Wiseman, who is now your starting center.

This is the move you make if you want to bolster the Pelicans’ defense and have a talented young center to pair with Zion.

Wiseman is already a good defender, will run the floor, catch lobs and make the Pelicans very athletic.

Here is your rotation:

PG: Lonzo Ball

SG: Andrew Wiggins/ J.J. Redick

SF: Brandon Ingram/Josh Hart

PF: Zion Williamson/Nicolo Melli

C: James Wiseman/Jaxson Hayes

With Wiseman and Wiggins in the starting lineup, the Pelicans defense should be improved, especially when it comes to rim protection.

They could switch on about anyone, and would potentially have three plus-defenders in the starting lineup. They would be fast, athletic and long enough to match up with some of the league’s bigger teams.

The Pels are now light at point guard but you can grab a free agent or two to plug those holes.

You now have five young players to build around, a solid defensive core and a very athletic squad. You’ve also chosen my personal favorite path for the New Orleans Pelicans.
