New Orleans Pelicans: Trading with Charlotte to get Onyeka Okongwu

Drafting Onyeka Okongwu

Okongwu is a guy who has been rocketing up draft boards as of late.

He is a 6-foot-9 power forward, who profiles as a guy who could also defend centers.

With the emergence of Bam Adebayo in the playoffs, teams are going to be looking for long combo forwards who can defend multiple positions and block shots.

Okongwu is a great rim protector who has active hands and would be a good fit in a lot of lineups for the Pelicans. Here is your rotation with Okongwu:

PG: Lonzo Ball

SG: Jrue Holiday/ J.J. Redick

SF: Brandon Ingram/Josh Hart

PF: Zion Williamson/Nicolo Melli

C: Onyeka Okongwu/Cody Zeller

This is a lineup that would be very versatile, switchable and fast. You’d have five young players to build around who are all on the same timeline and you somehow did it without giving up Jrue Holiday.
