New Orleans Pelicans: A trade with the Atlanta Hawks for the #6 NBA Draft Pick

The Atlanta Hawks are another young team with talent who may think they are a piece or two away from being competitive in the Eastern Conference.

They could just run it back with the guys they have now, add the sixth pick and try to grow as a unit, or they might be able to package a few players with this pick to get a star.

The Hawks also have the cap space to absorb a big contract, so they don’t have to send back a lot of money, which may appeal to the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Hawks get a defensive guard to pair with Trae Young without giving up too much of their core. The Pelicans get a young shooter in Kevin Huerter, a serviceable center in Dewayne Dedmon and the sixth pick in the draft.

This is an intriguing trade partner for the Pelicans, as there is some fit and the Pels wouldn’t have to take back a big contract.
