New Orleans Pelicans select Obi Toppin in the NBA Draft.

Drafting Obi Toppin

This would be an interesting choice, as he’s not often talked about as someone who would fit on the Pelicans, but Toppin would be a nice addition, especially after the trade with Atlanta.

The Pelicans need perimeter defenders and Toppin profiles as a guy who can do just that. He is a 3-and-D guy who can also make plays and run the floor. He’s also one of the guys who is ready to play now, so this is the move you make if you want to go all-in.

SF: Brandon Ingram/Obi Toppin

PF: Zion Williamson/Nicolo Melli

C: Dewayne Dedmon/Jaxson Hayes

This is a rotation with a lot of options, as Toppin is a fit with just about any of them. He is very versatile and could work in a number of ways for the Pelicans.

This team would be very deep and have a lot of shooting with both Redick and Huerter coming off the bench. Would they have enough defensively? You are rolling with depth and offense with this team.
